RDA Dancers, Teachers and Choreographers Earn Top Awards at Dance Educators of America

Revolution Dance Academy’s Performing Arts Ensemble (PAE) officially kicked off the 2018 competition season at Dance Educators of America (DEA) in Westminster, CO. It was their first mandatory competition of the year and for some dancers, the first time they performed their new pieces on stage. It was also the first time PAE’s group routines were performed. You all danced BEAUTIFULLY, and we are so proud of each of you! YOU DANCED YOUR HEARTS OUT!

A BIG congratulation goes out to our studio members who took home top honors:

-Teen Miss DEA – Elizabeth Salvador, “When She Came Back” (Regional Title Winner)

-Pre-Teen Miss DEA – Nicole Hamilton, “You Can Do Anything” (Regional Title Winner)

-Director Award – “When She Came Back” (Overall Highest Scoring Solo, Duo or Trio)

-President Award – “I Know All What I Do” (Overall Highest Scoring Group)

-Outstanding Choreography Award – Helen Estrella, “I Know All What I Do”

-Outstanding Choreography Award – Kevin Leon, “When She Came Back”

In addition, several dancers and groups placed in the Top-5 and received special judges’ awards, scholarships and “In the Spotlight” recognition for their performances on stage and while participating in the master classes.

What a wonderful way to kick off the season!

“I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to to dance better than myself.”
